Alice fell to Neverland is a indie horror RPG project made by King Hamster. Currenly only a DEMO, it's actively being worked on to make it a big project with a fully fleshed story.
Gameplay[]
Alice fell to Neverland is built on the RPG Maker VX Ace engine, which is used to create 16-bit 2D role-playing games, in the style of Ib or Mad Father. Unlike a typical RPG, Alice fell to Neverland has no battle system, but does includes enemies that will force you to care for the main character's health. The game's focus, being a more story-driven game, is around puzzle solving, and finding ways to escape the land you've stumbled upon.
In the beggining, you can choose between two main characters; Caroline or Lewis. However, only Caroline's route is available at this time.
The game is full of references to Disney movies, fairytales and even random broadway musicals, all tied together with an eerie and creepy atmosfere that makes you feel that not everything is how it seems.
Plot[]
Caroline and Lewis are two 14 year-old students at St. Mary's Boarding School, who have fallen into a deep hole in the middle of the forest. With no way to climb out, the only clue they have to return is a strange white rabbit. Soon, they learn that the place they've stumbled upon is no good, and with the help of a kid on their class, Thomas Faye, they must solve mysteries to find their way home and learn the truth about the dark place they've stumbled upon.
SIDE CAROLINE
Side Caroline begins with a little blond girl, Caroline A. Cohello discussing with her friends Rose and Giselle their newest homework assignment. Writing an essay about their favorite fairytale. Having never read one, she seems rather upset, but her friends assure Caroline that they'll find one that's just perfect for her. They then move on to talk about the "Future Protection Program" or FP program for short. A school initiative that helps the orphans in the town gain the opportunity to continue their studies in the big city.
Giselle, one of Caroline's friends has been offered a position in the FP program, which upsets the protagonist. After a small reconciliation they decide that they will have a goodbye party together, but first they have to do a couple of chores, one which includes delivering a set of documents to a young man who has been selected as well for the program, Thomas Faye.
On her way to deliver the documents, Caroline find a little white rabbit with a red ribbon. She notices it might belong to someone, so she follows him to the forest to try and bring him home with her. When she does, Caroline finds a big hole in the middle of the forest and carelessly falls in, pushed by a mysterious figure.
Some hours later, Caroline wakes up in a unknown place with new clothes and a strange hairstyle. After completing a series of tasks and meeting a group of strange creatures, Caroline finally reunites with Thomas Faye, the FP kid. In order to make their wish come true, they must unite forces to travel the land of WonderNeverland and search for one of two individuals. The Red Queen or The Pirate Captain.
SIDE LEWIS
Side Lewis begins with a little blond boy, Lewis C. Cohello thinking about his classmate, Thomas Faye and noticing how during the years his feelings for him seemed to have changed for the better. We learn that Thomas is being bullyed constantly by his classmates, and that nobody seems to care enough to do anything about it.
One night, Lewis and Thomas have a heart to heart and become fast friends. However, the next day we find out that Thomas has been selected to become part of the FP Program, breaking Lewis' heart.
The sneak peak for Side Lewis ends when the boy is pushed into a big hole in the middle of the forest by a mysterious figure.
