Plot[]
Yoo Minhyuk loses his father in an accident in his childhood. And he spends his adolescence in guilt, while his siblings jump into a family feud over the family inheritance.
One day, an unexpected blackout takes place in the mansion, and Minhyuk has to overcome the strange and often fatal incidents to find out the truth behind.
Characters[]
Yoo Minhyuk[]
Minhyuk is the protagonist. He is also the fourth son of the Yoo family.
After the passing of his father, he has been living his life with guilt. His mother condemned him for the accident and grew hateful of him. Sometimes, she sleepwalks to his room and tries to strangle him in his sleep.
He also blames himself for ruining his siblings' and mother's lives, because of the incident. He believed that if their father was alive, his siblings wouldn't have to fight over the family's inheritance.
Because his almost drowning experience as a child, Minhyuk greatly dislikes the dark and will end up having a panic attack if left in the darkness for too long.
"I hate the darkness. It's the same feeling as being in a deep ocean."
Yoo Minho[]
Minho is the eldest son. He wanted to inherit the family's inheritance because he was worried about the achievements and the property their father had accumulated over the years being decimated by the greed of his brothers & sisters (specifically, Samoon and Cheun) and he wants to keep his family from falling apart.
And because of this, he had to constantly fight against Samoon's and Cheun's attempts for the inheritance as Minwoo's (whom he thought was too immature & naive of their situation). He began to slowly dislike his siblings, due to their greed and foolishness.
During this time, he grew closer to his adoptive sister (Yuna) and confides his troubles to her. As time passed. he considered Yuna to be the most trustworthy &.consoling person in family and fell in love with her. Though, he is unaware of her stealing from the Yoo family for her real parents' sake.
According to Minhyuk, Minho used to be so gentle and considerate before their father's passing.
"I have to take care of them. Even if they're a shell of a family"
Yoo Samoon[]
Samoon is the second son. He once ran a pharmaceutical research center, which was well known as the pioneer of medicines. However, during the clinical testing for a newly developed vaccine. a patient dies which causes a scandal and massive lawsuit against Samoon.
Even though the patient's passing was due to a trivial mistake the employees made, Samoon ended losing all of his riches and his prestige in the medical world. The experience broke him and changed his personality for the worst. To regain his lost prestige and money, he became a cruel and scheming person (who would do whatever it takes to return to his former glory). According to Minho, Samoon was cold and sneaky as a snake.
"If I can just get up again, I can handle anything."
Yoo Cheun[]
Cheun is the eldest daughter. She is very greedy and manipulative, even more-so than that of her brother (Samoon). She loves setting Samoon and Minwoo up against each other & breaking their bond, in order to secure to the inheritance she believes is rightfully hers.
"I don't care who wins. The inheritance will go to me anyway."
Yoo Minwoo[]
Minwoo is the third son. He wants to share the inheritance equally among his siblings and live the free life he longs for, though he isn't truly aware of the situation with his family. And because of that, he is often manipulated by Cheun (who loves to make him and Samoon to fight because of their different opinions regarding the inheritance).
He is also the closest sibling to Minhyuk as he hangs out with him, listening to the music from his music company and gives him advise about their mother.
"I refuse to live in anyone's shadow. My life is my own."
Yoo Yuna[]
Yuna is the youngest daughter. She was adopted by the Yoo siblings' parents and is only kin to them by name. Because of their money troubles, her real parents often come to Yuna for support, which causes her to steal things from the Yoo family and wire transfers money to them.
However. it didn't remain secret for long as Samoon found out and decided to blackmail her with the threat that if Minho ever discovered truth about her stealing from their family, he would hate Yuna and kick her out of the house.
"Whatever, I don't have any reason to be here."
