Summary[]

I Cannot Drown is a traditional Yume Nikki fangame with 11 available effects. There is also an additional collectable known as "parts" that are more well hidden than the usual effects. Each of these effect which of the three endings are gotten.

Note: This game contains strong horror elements, partial nudity, and gore. As such, it is rated for a mature audience.

Plot[]

Your name is Ume. You are in a world. It is a familiar yet unknown world. Stretch your legs and go for a walk.

	Ume	The protagonist of "I Cannot Drown," who is trapped in a hole with no way out except by going deeper.
	Fuku	A bird that can be found in the sea surrounding the sandbar. The Ama effect must be equipped to find them. They send messages to Ume instructing her to find the effects to escape the cave.
	The Anomaly / The Pink Lady	A strange woman covered in corals hidden deep within the world outside the hole. She is one of the few talking characters that can be found.
	Save Rabbit	A small rabbit that coexists with Ume in the cave. Players can save their progress by interacting with it.
	Effect Mermaids	A variety of mermaids that appear in jugs as Ume collects more effects. Each is themed around a different effect, but cannot be interacted with.
	Skeleton Woman	A woman made of bones carrying a lantern. She gives Ume the Higanbana effect.
	Shrine Fox	A fox that lives near a shrine and graveyard. It gives Ume the Burning effect.
	Armless Girl	A girl with twin buns and no arms found throughout the game. Killing all of the students in the forest will enable her to give Ume the Right Leg of the Immortal One.
	Memory of Ivy	A woman in a gas mask that wields two sickles and chases Ume when nearby. In the "Her Memory" ending, she kills Ume in a movie theater and forces her to start the game from the beginning.
